30 on 6/27

Well... the time has come! I am another year older and another year wiser! Except this time, I have entered a new decade. I have always been able to make fun of Eric about how old he is since he is in his 30's! That joke will no longer work so I guess I will have to come up with a new one!

I had a great birthday and definitely felt the love. We had a family dinner and birthday shin dig the night before. I love when my birthday is because it is during the summer where my siblings and their families are more likely to be in attendance. This year was no exception as the Thornocks were here from Colorado!

So Eric took the day off to play with me on my day of birth! We went and put Clara Jo down at my mom's house, picked up my cute niece, and we went to Boondocks to play minature golf and arcade games. Great place to go to feel young! We had such a great time that we need not discuss who was victorious!

So we ended the birthday festivities with going out to dinner to Bonsai! One of the yummy places where they cook your food in front of you. It was so good and Eric had a fun time striking the gong during my birthday song.

Day of Fathers

So it was time to celebrate the fathers in our lives. I love Eric and the father that he is. He is such a great dad that our daughter likes him the best! Heck, even the dog likes him better! I took Eric to the sports store and he got himself a sweet hunting rifle. He was pretty excited about it, and I was excited that he was so tickled with the purchase! Here is Eric with his new toy that is also his early birthday present!

The Saturday before Father's Day we took lunch up to Eric's dad and spent some time with him. Here is a picture of Clara Jo and Eric sharing an ice cream bar. It was a tender moment that shows how tight these two are.

In the past, Fathers Day has been a hard day for me as I think about my dad that I love and miss. However, it has become a happier day for me in recent years. I love Eric and his dad and appreciate great qualities they both have that make them great fathers! Clara Jo is quite the lucky lady!

Mothers Day

Better late than never is what I always say! I had a great Mothers Day! It was better than last years since my hubby didn't wake up puking! That was a real perk! I was treated to breakfast in bed. Eric sure does make a mean bowl of cereal! We went to church and had a yummy dinner afterwards. I sure love the mom's in my life. I love Eric's mom, I love my mom, and I love being a mom!
