Do you like my hat?

Thanks Aunt Sonya for the stylish head decor!

Goodbye 2010

We had a pretty fun end to 2010! Eric's sister, Kris, came from Orem to bond with us. We went out to dinner to Famous Dave's and it was very tasty! I being from the South, can be a harsh bbq critic and therefore their bbq really doesn't do it for me. The cornbread muffins on the other hand are another story!!!! We ate dinner and then after we put Clara to bed, Kris stayed with her while Eric and I went to a party at a friend's house. As we look back we can say we had a great year and are excited what 2011 has in store for us!

Christmas with Clara Jo Take 2

It was hard to believe that it was time to have another holiday season with our little girl. Last year, she had no idea what was going on and all she needed to make her happy was a clean diaper and a full belly! This year she clued into a little more what was going on. She mastered the art of unwrapping presents. Here are some pictures and details of our second Christmas as a family!

The Saturday before Christmas, we went to our ward Christmas breakfast where Clara Jo got to meet up with Santa. As you can tell, she is not screaming like she did last year, but she doesn't look incredibly happy either!

Mama Jo was going to visit the Scott Rushing in Vancouver and so we had a little Christmas dinner and gift exchange with her and the Dredges. It was fun and as you can see here, Mama Jo is going to enjoy all of her free time catching up on movies...at home and in the theatre! Rough life eh?

For the last few years, we have been going to dinner with my sister and her family to Tempanyaki on Christmas Eve! What a yummy tradition that is! Here is a family shot of us at dinner as well as one of Clara Jo with her cute cousin Keegan.

After dinner, we headed to my good friend Cassah's house. She has been so kind to have us crash her family Christmas party each year. It is something we really look forward to. We ate and played games and did a candy bar exchange!

Eric and I always have a gift or two under the tree to unwrap! We usually like to do this Christmas Eve night! As you can see, we both scored!

So I had this great and festive idea! After we came home from dinner and the Christmas Eve shin dig and Clara Jo went to bed, we would drag down a mattress and sleep near the Christmas tree and watch a Christmas movie! I was excited about this and told Eric he needed to be too! He wasn't so much but he was a good sport. However, in the middle of the night, I just couldn't sleep very well! I think it had to do with the tree lights being on, not sleeping under my handy dandy ceiling fan, or perhaps it was that we had Clara Jo's monitor right near us! Needless to say, I don't think we are going to do this again! I am thinking next year, stringing some lights onto our bedroom window will suffice! Here we are excited for our not so restful nights sleep!

We got up the next morning and headed to Wallsburg to spend the day with Eric's family. Clara Jo got spoiled with gifts and a lot of attention. Here are some pictures from her second Christmas morning!

It has been a tradition for us to do snow angels on Christmas morning. This started the first Christmas that we went up there when we were engaged. I ever so persusavily, talked Eric's dad into going out and making a snow angel with me. Eric was shocked as that is something Daddy Yo would never do! We have done it every year since. This year it was just Daddy Yo and I since the snow was of a hard and crunchy nature. However, we couldn't let that stop our Christmas Day tradition.

We got back to our place and we opened all of our stocking stuffers. This is one of my favorite parts of Chrsitmas. As you can tell from the pictures, we were all feeling the love!

We end the Christmas post with a tender family picture which includes the whole family underneath our stockings. We had a great holiday of family, food, and fun! Until next year! I think Clara Jo will really understand alot more of what is going on!
