Climbing Up!

So it was time once again to hike the Y! We have done this a time or two in the past, and we decided to tackle it again and see if we could make it. Okay, so we did it to see if I could make it....Eric was a no brainer! We left little one with her Aunt Kris and up Eric and I went. Good news is that I made it and that made me feel warm and fuzzy! Especially after I got to the top! What an amazing view! People who have given me slack lately for wearing red in the past....these photos are for you

As of lately, Eric and I weren't the only ones climbing! Clara Jo decided to start standing up and holding on to furniture and things of a sturdy nature. She has even started climbing up the stairs. I was quite surprised to find this when I went to get little one after she woke up from a nap. What I learned this week was... it is much more challenging to get your little one down for a nap when she stands in her crib and screams. We had an hour or so long battle the other day....Mom finally won! But how can you not appreciate her new trick and how happy she seems to be about her new accomplishment.

Colorado Trip

Eric and I planned a little trip to Colorado to visit the Thornock crew! Mama Jo decided to come along. We had a great trip and enjoyed a little getaway vakay!!!! Here are some photographic memories of our trip.

First off, the reason Mama Jo decided to come along is because she is now a free woman!!! Mama Jo was able to retire a year early and she (along with all of us) are so dang excited and so proud of her. Sonya had a little celebration dinner for Mom when we got there Friday night to celebrate her new life of freedom.

My sister's three kids all showered Clara Jo with attention. They would always do things to entertain her, hold her, and such. Here is Clara Jo with her three cousins that she bonded quite welll with.

My little niece would always do things to play with Clara Jo and make her happy. One of them included pulled her around the house in a big box. Little one loved it and would scream whenever the ride would stop! :)

On Labor Day, we went up to Rocky Mountain National park. It was breathtaking up there and actually a little on the chilly side. We enjoyed the view and were one with nature. What a pretty area it is up there!

As you can tell, we had a great time. Clara Jo did quite well traveling and seeing new places that she has never been!

Sports Week

We had a fun week last week when we went to two sporting activities!!
First off, we had to fit in our tradition of catching a Bees game. We have gone to a game each summer since we were dating! This year we went with our friends Christian and Teresa. They live just down the street from us and Eric and Christian were paired up as home teaching companions when we moved. The tightness has just grown from there! We had crappy seats, but I know people in high places. My cute friend Valerie that I teach with told us to come and sit with them...right behind home plate! We had a fun night of enjoying the atmosphere and food at the ball park. We left before the game ended, but the Bees pulled it out...so the internet said the day after! :)

Here are the Youngs and the Crooks (cool name right?) at the ballpark. We multi tasked as we watched the game and tried to name their little boy that is due in December.

Here is Valerie and I! I am such a fan of her! Please appreciate the good view in the background. Also notice, my BYU shirt! I wore this to make up for what I would have to wear to a football game in a day or two! :)

Did I mention half the fun of a ball game is the food? Here are our friends showing of some tasty grub!

After the baseball game, we had a Utah football game to go to. For Eric's birthday last month, we purchased tickets to the game against Pitt. Those of you who know my husband, knows how passionate he is about U of U football! He was very excited! It was the season opening game and the weather was just perfect! I had never seen so many red shirts in all my life! I was torn between cheering for Pittsburgh and for Utah. I served my mission in Pittsburgh and actually proselyted on the Pitt campus. However, I was going with a very devoted Ute fan and wanted to join him in the fun! In the end, the husband won! We got there and had a great time!We sat near the Pitt fans and Eric taunted them and screamed so not so loving things at them periodically throughout the evening! Repentance is for everyone right? It was a definite nail bitter as we had to go into overtime and it was so dang close! However, the good ole' Utes pulled it out! However, I think the best part of it all was seeing how happy and excited Eric was! I told him we should invest in season tickets when we get rich! :)

Here we are in the sea of red shirts! I didn't have to worry about finding one to wear, we have a whole collection of Utah attire!

Here is the pretty red U on the field. A little scenery picture to prove that we were really there!

We went down at half time and got a shot closer to the field. I think Eric enjoyed his birthday present, even if he had to wait a month to enjoy it! He said it was definitely worth the wait!
